Two-post lift – automatic or semi-automatic? How to choose tyre service and car repair tools

Many people wonder about the difference between the semi-automatic and automatic lifts. This is why we decided to put out this article. So as to explain the actual distinction between the two types of lifts. When to get a semi-automatic car lift? And when an automatic? Let’s think about it!

There are several types of two-post lifts available on the market. They are:

  • semi-automatic two-post lifts
  • automatic two-post lifts

In the semi-automatic, you have to release the locks manually. In order to put the car down, you have to push the DOWN button and release the locks (using a handle). And you have to do it for both columns.

Automatic two-post lifts

In these lifts, using the columns happens automatically. You can do that, using the electromagnetic system which could be managed through the control panel. The box that is located on one of the columns. When the lift’s arms are up, you simply have to push the LOCK button.

Are the automatic lifts any better?

Well, they are more comfortable to use. If you got the locks that get activated automatically, you don’t need to care about it. No need to waste time on this. The lift would do that for you.

Would a semi-automatic lift make any sense? It would! remember that they are much cheaper than the automatic ones.
